WWE Superstar Karrion Kross got released from the company after his contract expired on August 10, 2025. The Herald of Doomsday had been receiving massive support from the fans this year, with his merchandise becoming one of the biggest sellers in the last few months. Following his release, many fans have been chanting "We want Kross" and awaiting his return to the promotion.
Speaking on the matter at the Ariel Helwani Show, Karrion Kross noted that he received a contract offer from WWE last week before his release. The 40-year-old asked for details regarding how WWE drafted the contract, but this wasn't communicated back to him. Moreover, he was asked to sign it within a 24-hour time limit. The company revoked the deal when Kross didn't sign it within the given time frame.
"It's like, you know, my contract was up last week. I never actually received a contract, like an offer, until last week... I got the offer. I wanted to know how they came to the valuation of that offer. Just wanted, you know, like, some information, some metrics, some analytics that's supporting to, hey, this is how we got here. And when I inquired about that, they were unwilling to provide that information and told me I had 24 hours to agree to the offer or they were rescinding it. So, you know, the next day, we talk, I asked if they have the information, they don't. And I said, I can't make an informed decision without the information. And I'd like to keep the dialogue open. And they rescinded the offer."
Karrion Kross also highlighted that he and Scarlett are open to negotiating and, in fact, were still at the table and wished to work for WWE.
"My wife and I still want to be, like, with WWE. Like, I'm still at the, I'm at the table for conversations. I did not step out of the conversation. You know what I mean? So, you know, we still, we still want to be there. We still want to work it out. "

Ariel Helwani also asked Kross if he was currently working his fans and the WWE Universe. In response, the former two-time NXT Champion noted that he wasn't speaking as his character but as himself. With this, Kross shattered the rumors going around in pro wrestling circles that his exit is probably scripted.
